1) My project is Giving with Purpose: an online database/ networking forum that allows people to connect and find volunteer opportunities all over the world. Here's the video of my second attempt at an elevator pitch!
2) For the most part I had some pretty positive feedback on my first elevator pitch, which was a pleasant surprise! Really the only negative comment I got was that it was sometimes difficult to hear, because I filmed it outside.
3) After reading the feedback from my first pitch, I decided to film my second pitch indoors. Hopefully this improved the sound quality!
Hi Isabelle! I don't know whether it is my computer or not but I had a very tough time hearing you in this video as well. From what I did catch though this seems like a very good idea. I agree with what you said about people being willing to do a lot of volunteer work but not necessarily if they have to look for it. Great work! ReplyDeleteI think this is an excellent idea. I don't know of any other online databases that offer this. I remember back in high school to look for volunteer hours you would have to call the different locations and ask if they offer that. This would alleviate much of the trouble. I think this will only make the process easier for those who are looking to volunteer rather than becoming discouraged from the search. I had a hard time hearing your video as well but it wasn't too terrible.

From what I could gather, you're idea is to offer some kind of means (I couldn't catch whether it was an app or an online data base) that would allow people to connect with volunteer opportunities. I think that is a fabulous idea. I used to use such a website in high school though it wasn't particularly effective. I'd love to use this myself if that is in fact what you are doing.
The sound quality was a problem so I can't really speak on what you said but your hand gestures and your presence in the video say that you may have a really good pitch!

Hey! I had a really hard time hearing you too. I tried opening your video different ways and turning the volume all the way up and still had a hard time. From your description at the top of the post I think this is a really great idea. Even though I could not hear much of the video you seemed really comfortable and composed in front of the camera.
