Customer Interviews No. 1 (Week 4)

My idea for this project was actually inspired by last week’s “Identifying Local Opportunities” assignment. In reading through countless articles about all the problems being reported in the local area, I was seriously disheartened, and I realized I was probably not the only one who felt that way.

I think there are a lot of people who want to help make a difference, not just in this community but all over the world. However, willing as those people may be, they often miss out on opportunities to affect change because they don't know where to start and/or feel like they can’t make much of an impact on their own.

So, I would like to create an online database/ networking forum that allows people to connect with others who are interested and/or involved in similar causes and projects. This resource would allow people to connect with other individuals within their local community, as well as with representatives from national and international organizations, and would offer all kinds of opportunities for people to give of their time, talent and treasure.

Below are the videos showing the interviews I conducted…

Through these interviews, I learned that there is a great need for this sort of resource, especially in today’s world when people are intimidated by problems that seem too widespread and daunting to take on alone. I also learned that I enjoy connecting with people and giving them a chance to voice their opinions on topics they care about. I especially enjoyed hearing the variety of causes that people said they wanted to do something about.

  1. Isabelle First I enjoyed watching your interviews. It seems that most people know of the issues and would like to help, but not many are actually doing anything about these issues. I think this is the same for the big picture of the population. People need to stop complaining and get out there and contribute. 2. Hi Isabelle,
One of the quickest trends I noticed about the interviews is a seemingly unified concern for the environment, but a lack of ways in which they can participate in its aid. I also found the honesty of your fourth interviewee humorous and refreshing in its honesty. Overall great job, it seems you managed to cover multiple demographics in your selection of interview subjects. I look forward to seeing how your idea progresses.
Thanks for posting! Here is a link to my own blog http://ablog4c.blogspot.com/2016/01/customer-interviews-no-1.html

  3. Hey Isabelle! I think this is a really good idea. I believe it is something that should be created and you would do it for all the right reasons. Many people say that they would want to do this but when it comes time to put in the effort to do it many people may no longer want to. I think it is something that you should definitely look into and it is something that I think would be interesting to me personally! Also I think you would enjoy my blog post http://cambent.blogspot.com/2016/01/interviewing-customers-no1.html

  4. Hey Isa! I like the topic of your interview. It really connects with the rest of your blog. I love that you also interview a variety of people from different ages and backgrounds. It's interesting that the people that you interviewed are aware of the issues at hand but don't help or know how to help the problems at hand.

  5. What an interesting and very entrepreneurial idea. I like how the previous assignments were the push that helped you come up with this idea. Sometimes doing endless online searches can be taxing, and something to streamline the process, especially for people that want to make a difference is a great idea. Also I really enjoyed watching your interviews.
